Pharmacogenomics of Pediatric Cardiac Arrest: Cisplatin Treatment Worsened by a Ryanodine Receptor 2 Gene Mutation

چکیده

In thelast few decades, the roles of cardio-oncology and cardiovascular geneticsgained more attention in research daily clinical practice, shaping a new approach management patients affected by cancer disease. Genetic characterization undergoing treatment can support better risk stratification beyond typical factors, suchas contractile function QT interval duration, uncovering possible patient’s concealed predisposition to heart failure, life threatening arrhythmias sudden death. Specifically, an integrated cardiogenetic oncological practice ensure best patient-centered healthcare model, suggesting, also adequate cardiac monitoring timing alternative treatments, reducing drug-related complications. We report case 14-month-old girl neuroblastoma, treated cisplatin, complicated arrest. described genetic Ryanodine receptor 2 (RYR2) gene mutation subsequent pharmacogenomic shape treatment.

Association of obesity with worsened prehospital cardiac arrest

Background. This study evaluated a potential correlation between patient age, body weight and survival from prehospital cardiac arrest, as a secondary endpoint in a study evaluating the effect of bicarbonate on survival. Design. A prospective, randomized, double-blinded clinical intervention trial. Methods. 874 prehospital cardiopulmonary arrest patients in a prehospital urban, suburban, and ru...

crouzon syndrome: a fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 gene mutation

crouzon syndrome is a rare autosomal dominant premature cranyosynostosis, caused by fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 gene mutation on chromosome 10. the predominant skull and facial malformations with potential compromise airway make the crouzon syndrome a demanding issue for anesthesiologists and surgeons, required dynamic team work. in this report we describe a child, a known case of crouz...

In-hospital pediatric cardiac arrest.

The understanding of the incidence, epidemiology, etiology, and pathophysiology of pediatric cardiac arrest has evolved greatly in the past two decades. This includes recognition that cardiopulmonary resuscitation delays in cardiac arrest are especially injurious, ventricular arrhythmias are not as uncommon in children as previously believed, and four distinct phases of cardiac arrest can be de...

Clinical and molecular characterization of a cardiac ryanodine receptor founder mutation causing catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia.

BACKGROUND Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) is a difficult-to-diagnose cause of sudden cardiac death (SCD). We identified a family of 1400 individuals with multiple cases of CPVT, including 36 SCDs during youth. OBJECTIVES We sought to identify the genetic cause of CPVT in this family, to preventively treat and clinically characterize the mutation-positive individu...
